Who else wants to enjoy Candy anytime they want?

It is sometimes the small things that really make a big difference in life…The toothless grin of an old neighbour, the sparkle of joy in a child’s eye...the priceless little things that can sometimes make your day!

I have always wanted to be in a profession where I could
do something different…that could make a difference! And I did not think it would be possible until an old friend of mine, came visiting. She said she had brought a special gift for me, and handed me a brown bag that looked like a huge peanut. It was a big hand-sewn bag of Abba Zaba (a peanut butter filled taffy)! I was overwhelmed. She had remembered, even after all these years! I used to love peanut butter so much that I was called “nutty” at school. I was touched.

And that was the beginning of Candy Creations. I decided I wanted to do something like this! A candy store that delivered personalized packs of candies for people to gift their loved ones… a cute lil cupid holding a heart filled with one’s sweetheart’s favourite chocolates for Valentine’s day, a soccer ball filled with an assortment of Hershey bars, Snickers and chocolate band-aids candy for a soccer player boyfriend or a cute teddy backpack stuffed with Jelly Belly and Cherry Mash for a nephew celebrating his birthday…

candy Candy Creations is my dream come true. I never imagined, running a candy store could be so fulfilling a profession. Picking all those gooey chocolates, wrapping them all up in the special wrappers, setting them in the cute lil baskets and boxes…and the best part of it all…delivering them at the door of the unsuspecting customer! To this day, I try to deliver the gift baskets personally,
whenever I can. There is no bigger joy than watching the look of surprise and delight on their faces at the sight of my Candy Creations! If little drops of water make the mighty ocean, it is these little moments of joy… that make my lovely days.

In case you would like to try out favorite chocolate candy cookies at home, here is the recipe:

Surprise Bar Cookies

1 package (12 ounces) Snickers Popables® chocolate candy pieces, chilled

1 roll (1 pound) chocolate chip cookie dough, at room temperature

PREPARATION:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with non-stick foil.

Cut cookie dough in half lengthwise. Oil your hands and use your fingers to gently press the dough into the bottom of the baking pan.

The layer will be thin. Evenly distribute the chocolate candy pieces on top of the dough and gently press them down so they don't roll around.

Bake 15 to 20 minutes. Let cool about 20 minutes, then cut into bars while warm.

Yield: 36 to 48 bars, depending on cut size

Variation: Try other types of candy bites such as Reese's®, Rolos, Peppermint Patties, chocolate-covered almonds... any favorite candy! Enjoy!
